Sharon Breivogel-Leonard,
  B.F.A., FCLSA, FNAO, ABOC-AC

Sharon is a newcomer to the Central NY area. She has been in the optical field since 1969, and has been a NYS licensed optician and contact lens practitioner since 1974. Sharon is a past president of the New York State Society of Opticians and currently serves on their Executive Board of Directors. She serves nationally on the Board of Directors for the National Academy of Opticianry, is a past director of the American Board of Opticianry, and the Vice-chair of the Commission for Opticianry Accreditation. Sharon is an ABO/NCLE approved speaker, a Fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America, and is a frequent speaker at national meetings. After many years in private practice, she became the Lead Instructor at Interboro Institute, an opticianry college in Manhattan, from 1993-2004. Sharon is a contributing editor for Vision Care Product News, an optical journal, and has numerous publications on eyewear and contact lens topics. She is also a consultant to the N.Y.S. Education department, specializing in professional licensing, testing, and administration. She re-located to the central NY area in 2004, and joined our staff here at Eye Care of CNY. Sharon has also "given back", having participated in clinical optical missions to Haiti, Honduras, and Nicaragua. She resides in Oneida with her husband Keith, also an optician. They enjoy fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking, and traveling to Labrador & Newfoundland for salmon.  Sharon retired in February 2008, but comes in our office one day a week on Wednesday. 

   Tiffany McKinney, FNAO, ABOC

Tiffany McKinney has over seven years experience in the optical field.  She is a New York State Licensed optician, and is certified nationally by the American Board of Opticianry.  She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry.  Tiffany is currently studying for her New York State Contact Lens Practitioner Certificate.  Originally from Fulton, Tiffany studied at SUNY Oswego.  She joined Eyecare of CNY in March of 2006.  In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys hiking and travel (she has been across the entire country!).  We are pleased to have such a skilled and enthusiastic person in our office.

      Karen Forhan, FNAO,COA

Karen Forhan has been in the optical field since 1984. She is a graduate of one of the most prestigious schools for ophthalmic dispensing in the country, Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY, where she won the 1986 College Bowl of Ophthalmic Dispensing. She is a fellow with the National Academy of Opticianry, a member of NYSSO and a JCAHPO certified ophthalmic assistant. Karen is a licensed optician with many years of experince in manufacturing and designing eyeglasses and contact lenses. She travels extensively and has adopted two children - one from China and one from Cambodia. We are fortunate to have such a skilled and experienced person on our staff.

             Darleen Stoudemire, FNAO     

Darleen Stoudemire is not only an optician - she is our Office Administrator as well. She has over 25 years in the optical industry. Darleen managed an ophthalmology offiice for 17 years and a retail optical store for 4 years. She is a licensed optician and is a member of NYSSO. Darleen studied American Sign Language for three years and has assisted in signing for church activities. She enjoys cooking for family gatherings and loves spending time with her family, friends, and her grandchildren. We are so pleased to have someone like Darleen, with such knowledge and experience, as part of our practice.
